Project: Extra Care | Refurbishment

Located close to the renowned Columbia Road Flower Market, Shipton House was refurbished to become an extra care facility for the sufferer of dementia. 

​

The refurbished 1930s mansion block benefits from an extended walkway with new curtain wall that was developed in conjunction specialists in dementia care design. 

In conjunction with Max Fordham a natural ventilation strategy negates unwanted solar gains. 

​

The care facility is integrated with the existing Sundial Centre and the general needs housing, in order to give something back the dilapidated central parking area and surrounding gardens were redesigned to provide raised common planting areas and new play areas for community improvement.
